Reginald S. Floyd was born on January 13, 1964 in Neptune, New Jersey. He is the grandson of sharecroppers from South Carolina. Rev. Floyd is one of two sons born to Style and Magnolia Floyd. As a young child, Rev. Floyd witnessed his only brother, 13 at the time, pass away in a tragic accident. This event was devastating and it made Rev. Floyd even at a young age realize that each and every second is precious and to spend as much time as possible helping others.
Rev. Floyd attended college in Maine graduating from Bates College in Lewiston, with a B.A. in 1986. He later enrolled at Harvard University and earned a Master’s Degree. Rev. Floyd entered law school at Rutgers School of Law-Newark, and graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1992. Ministerial studies were done at New Brunswick Theological Seminary to fulfill the childhood urge to help others and start the ministry.
Rev. Floyd has been licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania since June 1992. He was First Assistant Prosecutor for the City of Atlantic City and was Of Counsel to the Law Firm of James Carroll, III. From 1993 to 2007 he served as the Legal Advisor to the New Jersey Conference Trustees of The African Methodist Episcopal Church representing 100 churches. From January 2006 to January 2008 he was the Chief Public Defender for the City of Atlantic City. In August 2006, Governor Corzine appointed him to a 21-member Advisory Committee on State Police procedures recognizing his expertise in civil rights matters as a longtime pastor, community leader and attorney. In January 2008, he was appointed the Undersheriff of Atlantic County.
In April 2007, he founded Christ Worship Center Worldwide in Pleasantville, New Jersey and is the Senior Pastor. In September 2011, he led the congregation in purchasing a former banquet hall for their worship center. Rev. Floyd has been a pastor since 1993. In 1993, he was ordained an Itinerant Elder in the AME church. In 2011 Rev. Floyd was ordained by Morning Star Ministries in Fort Mill, South Carolina. He was under the Ministerial Guidance of Rev. Collins Days, Sr., the Pastor of Second Baptist Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey and was also ordained by Second Baptist Church. He pastored at Allen AME Church for 13 years and led the church in building a 1.2 million dollar Community Center. Pastor Floyd was installed as Pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church of Hartsville, South Carolina in September 2015. He has taken an active role in the Hartsville community and is a member of the Hartsville NAACP.
Rev. Floyd is a City Judge in Hartsville, SC., Of Counsel at the Schroeder Law Group, and Special Projects Consultant for Morris College in Sumter, SC.
