Personal Profile
Jim Schroeder is originally from Southern New Jersey and moved to Brown County in 1995 to Pastor Decatur and Mount Olivet Churches in the eastern end of Brown County. After marrying Amanda Arn he returned to New Jersey to lead churches and later plant a church near Medford, New Jersey. Jim served three years in the administration of Circleville Bible College (Ohio Christian University) before returning to law school.

Over the past fifteen years, Jim has handled hundreds of commercial and residential real estate transactions including sales over a million dollars. He is a licensed realtor in New Jersey and Ohio.

Jim also has built a reputation as one of the top municipal government attorneys having served as City attorney for a municipality of over 30,000, as county counsel in various positions and as general counsel and executive director for a water and sewer authorities of a large suburban New Jersey township.

Along with his experience running a law practice, Jim also is managing partner in an auto repair garage in New Jersey and a cafe in Sardinia, Ohio. With practical experience, he represents several small to mid-sized companies, helping several of his clients to continue to grow from “a guy and truck” or a “woman and a great idea” into a scaling company with multiple employees.

In the area of church and nonprofit leadership, Jim has served as the President of the Board of Steered Straight, the country’s leading organization providing school assembly and resources to combat drug addiction and vaping. Jim has also served as the Executive Director of the Pleasantville, New Jersey Police Foundation, providing support to local law enforcement officials and opportunities for positive interactions between the police and the community they serve. He has severed several churches helping them restart and was the founding Pastor of Crossroads Community Church of Indian Mills, New Jersey.
Jim is the former Mayor of Sardinia, Ohio and is active in local, state and national poltics. He is the pastor of Sardinia Hope Church where he and his family have served since 2020.

Jim’s passion is using his knowledge to help people achieve their goals. He enjoys connecting people with each other, providing needed resources, and setting them up with the appropriate legal foundations for success in life, business, and service.
Professional Background & Qualifications
Education
Jim Schroeder holds multiple degrees from several institutions. He received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law in Camden New Jersey. He also earned two additional Master’s Degrees from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. In addition, Schroeder has done graduate work in Public Sector Labor Relations and American History at Rutgers University and Nonprofit Leadership at Duke University.

Jim Schroeder was admitted to the New Jersey Bar Association in 2008; the District of Columbia Bar Association in 2010; the New York State Bar Association in 2014; and the Ohio Bar Association in 2020. He is also admitted to the Federal Courts of Southern New Jersey and Southern Ohio.
Leadership, Membership & Honors
Jim is a licensed New Jersey and Ohio Realtor. Jim is a former member of the Byrd Township Fire Department in Decatur, Ohio. He was previously the Pastor of Decatur and Mount Olivet Churches. He is also proud of being commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel. Jim is a member of the Jersey Shore Sharks Rugby Hall of Fame. Jim served as a committeeman for Shamong Township, New Jersey and is the former Mayor of Sardinia, Ohio.

He serves on numerous boards and consults with nonprofit organizations and community development projects. Schroeder received a Community Service Award from Stockton, was named a Marshall Brennan Fellow at Rutgers School of Law-Camden, and an Eagleton Fellow at Rutgers University.
